March is Brain Injury Awareness Month! To celebrate and help spread the word, I’ll be posting a different resource every day all month. Today’s book is Prisoners without Bars: A Caregiver’s Tale by Donna O’Donnell Figurski.
Donna called 9-1-1. David slipped into a coma. A neurosurgeon said David would make a “great organ donor.” Donna’s memoir is a heart-wrenching and triumphant story of advocacy, caregiving, and love.
You can find more information about the book (and Donna herself) HERE.
